Nkonzi Camp sits inside South Luangwa National Park, positioned along a quiet tributary system roughly 45 minutes north of the park's main gate.
With Nkzoni being situated within the park boundaries eliminates the need for daily pontoon or gate crossings, allowing game drives and walking safaris to start immediately upon leaving your tent.
The surrounding terrain features a rich mosaic of alluvial floodplains, mopane woodlands, and seasonal watercourses. Because this central-northern sector receives significantly less vehicle traffic than the busier main gate areas, guests experience exceptional wildlife sightings—including regular encounters with leopard, lion, wild dog, and large elephant herds—in near-total solitude.
At the center of camp is a spacious Swahili-style Meru tent housing a comfortable open-air lounge, candlelit dining area, and a fully stocked bush bar. Positioned beneath mature shade trees, this central gathering space invites guests to soak in the atmosphere of a traditional safari. A curated library and board games complete the setting for serene afternoons between activities.

Each of the five walk-in canvas Meru tents is thoughtfully positioned for privacy and sweeping wilderness views over the surrounding plains and dry riverbed. Inside, handcrafted wooden beds feature crisp, pure cotton linens and flexible configurations (available as twin or king setups).
